Digital vehicle inspections your mechanics will actually use

A paper inspection sheet gets greasy, goes missing and has to be retyped. Mechvy puts the checklist on the mechanic’s phone or tablet, and the findings flow straight into the job and the quote.

Checklists built around the way you work

Owners and managers build checklists as categories and items. Mechvy ships with a general vehicle inspection already set up, covering brakes, tyres, suspension, lights, fluids, battery, steering and exhaust, which you can use as it is or change to suit.

Editing a checklist only affects inspections started afterwards. Each inspection keeps its own copy of the checklist as it was, so history on a past job is never rewritten.

Quick to complete, hard to get wrong

  • Tap OK, Attention or Fail for each item, with an optional note.
  • Progress updates as you go, for example 12 of 19 checked.
  • Add photos to the job as you find things, so the customer and the office can see what you saw.
  • Capture a customer signature on the job when you need sign-off.

Findings turn into work

When an inspection is completed with Attention or Fail items, advisors and managers are notified. In the office, each flagged item shows with the mechanic’s notes, and one click adds it to the quote as a line the customer can approve.

That closes the gap between "we noticed it" and "the customer agreed to fix it".

A typical inspection

  1. The mechanic opens their job on a phone or tablet and taps Inspect.
  2. They pick the checklist and work through it, marking each item and adding notes or photos.
  3. On completion the office is alerted to anything flagged.
  4. The advisor adds the findings to the quote and sends it for approval.

Common questions

Can I create my own inspection checklists?

Yes. Owners, managers and admins can create checklists with their own categories and items.

Do inspections work for any vehicle type?

The checklists are yours to define, so you can build one for cars, motorcycles, trucks or fleet vehicles.

What happens to past inspections if I edit a checklist?

Nothing. Each inspection stores the checklist as it was when it started.
